On this page your current connection speed is tested by measuring time difference between moment of downloading of top and bottom parts of this page (in METHODS 1,2 this time difference is measured on CLIENT side by using JavaScript technology, in METOD 1a this time difference is measured on SERVER side by SSI /server-side includes/ technology). METHOD 1, 1a tests your download speed with already established connection, METHOD 2 is composite method, it determines your connection speed by dividing test URL downloaded size to establish connection time plus download time. JavaScript required to measure this difference. FireFox, Internet Explorer 5.0+ are tested for correctness of this script. As a rule the measured connection speeds satisfies approximate empirical relationship S1 ≥ S1a ≥ S2. traceroute results to detect problematic nodes in your Internet connection are adduced after speed measurements results.
